During the devastating floods in July-August 2010, Ufone set up tent villages using recycled PVC flex removed from advertisement hoardings and billboards after a commercial campaign expires. These villages were set up In Charsadda, Sukkur and Multan. Each tent catered to up to 300 people in each village.
Ufone showed solidarity with the flood victims and shared the religious fervour of Eid with them. Ufone volunteers distributed Eid gift bags on Eid Day among flood victims. The gift bags included ghee, flour, sugar and a blanket. Ufone volunteers visited two camps located at Nasta Road, Charsadda and worked for a whole day. This was the second such initiative - the first was in Sukkar - by Ufone to alleviate some of the miseries caused by the disastrous floods, which were one of the biggest ever faced by any nation in the world. Ufone also donated a substantial amount to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund 2010.
